Maurice Graham Henry on French restaurants in China
With
one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, the most affluent citizens
of China are rapidly developing a taste for the very best of things
western. For fine dining, this of course includes an ever-increasing
taste for and appreciation of the cuisine and wines of France. The number of
high-end French restaurants in China is still very small in comparison to the US and Japan. However,
I expect that many more will open over the coming months
and years (especially in Macau, an island off the coast of China that is quickly becoming
the Las Vegas of the Orient). Look for our coverage of French restaurants in China to expand accordingly.
