The Very Best of Burgundy
A French Food and Wine Adventure
May 18th to 24th, 2008

Arrive in Dijon where you will be met by our tour leader and escorted to Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy. Upon arrival in Beaune, check in and get settled at the 16th century, 4-star, Hotel Cep, Beaune's most luxurious hotel and our home for the next 3 days. Located in the heart of the medieval city of Beaune, Le Cep, boasts individually decorated rooms, fine period antiques and the best in modern amenities. Beaune is a medley of romance, gastronomy, and mystery painted on a backdrop of Medieval mastery. In the heart of Burgundian vineyards, Beaune is the name synonymous with fine wines the world over, and your visit would not be complete without touring the historic center of the city. There will be plenty of free time to wander and explore this splendid city on your own. First a Gallic town and then an outpost of Rome, Beaune was the residence of the Dukes of Burgundy up to the 14th century, before they moved permanently to Dijon. The fortifications and towers that still exist today were built from the 15th century onwards. Beaune is one of the wealthiest communities in France thanks to its unforgettable wines. We will enjoy meals at Beaune's finest tables, tasting the famous wines from the Cote d' Or.

Acclaimed Chef Jean-Louis Gerin will take us to the kitchen! Get ready to learn and laugh as we discover the true secrets of authentic Burgundian cuisine! Our cooking lessons and demonstrations will give us a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of French cuisine. We will also savor the best of the region at several Michelin starred restaurants. Etienne's extensive knowledge of the Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits regions, producing many of the world's finest wines will result in the ultimate in tasting and pairings. We will visit the best vineyards and enjoy several noted wines with each meal.
There will also be guided tours of Beaune, Dijon and markets. The week will include visits to Vougeot, Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanee, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Meursault, and Puligny-Montrachet.
Chateau de Gilly is the historical residence of the Abbés de Cîteaux, located near to Clos Vougeot. It has lost none of its authenticity, with its moats, its French-style gardens and magnificent vaulted dining room. We will enjoy three nights here while exploring the nearby vineyards and villages.
