The
Very Best of Burgundy
A French Food and Wine Adventure
May 18th to 24th, 2008
Arrive in Dijon where you will be met by our tour leader and escorted to
Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy. Upon arrival in Beaune, check in and
get settled at the 16th century, 4-star, Hotel Cep, Beaune's most luxurious
hotel and our home for the next 3 days. Located in the heart of the medieval
city of Beaune, Le Cep, boasts individually decorated rooms, fine period
antiques and the best in modern amenities. Beaune is a medley of romance,
gastronomy, and mystery painted on a backdrop of Medieval mastery. In the
heart of Burgundian vineyards, Beaune is the name synonymous with fine wines
the world over, and your visit would not be complete without touring the
historic center of the city. There will be plenty of free time to wander and
explore this splendid city on your own. First a Gallic town and then an
outpost of Rome, Beaune was the residence of the Dukes of Burgundy up to the
14th century, before they moved permanently to Dijon. The fortifications and
towers that still exist today were built from the 15th century onwards.
Beaune is one of the wealthiest communities in France thanks to its
unforgettable wines. We will enjoy meals at Beaune's finest tables, tasting
the famous wines from the Cote d' Or.
